Raw Almond Milk and Raw Rice Milk

We've been making both of these with the Vita-mix and they are perfect for making frozen fruit ice cream and milk based smoothies and shakes.

Raw Brown Rice Milk

2 cups uncooked brown rice
Water
A few drops vanilla
1 - 2 tbsp Raw honey (optional)

Add rice, vanilla and honey to the Vita-Mix and then fill the rest of the way with water. Blend on high until rice is halfway between finely ground and coarsely chopped. Pour into separate container and let rest overnight. Filter with a fine strainer and/or cheese cloth the next day. Enjoy.

Raw Almond Milk

1/2 cup raw almonds
1/4 cup raw agave nectar or honey (or 1/2 cup pitted dates or a few drops Stevia)
Pinch Sea Salt
5 cups water

Place all ingredients into the Vita-Mix and blend until almonds are as finely ground as they will get. Transfer to a pitcher with a lid so you can shake it up before each use. Enjoy immediately. You can strain the fiber out, but it tastes good and blends well with shakes and ice cream. You can filter out the almond fiber and use it in raw dehydrated cracker recipes. This would be awesome with 2 scoops of raw cacao powder blended with it to make chocolate almond milk. Yum!

I mixed rice milk and almond milk together and that was good, too. It cuts down on the massive blast of Omega-6 that the almonds deliver.

Love you all!

  2. Where did you get that rice milk recipe? It's different than what I find googling. Every other one that I've seen says to cook the rice.

"Blend on high until rice is halfway between finely ground and coarsely chopped" About how long does that take in your vita-mix? Do you go like 15 to 30 seconds or so?

  3. Kyle, less than a minute. The reason I wrote that is because I let mine go for about a minute and it became too fine and the milk separated and did a weird thing and it was gross.
